June14 2010 : Bluefin TUNA.
Left the Ocean City inlet around 6 am. Had a hugh swell in the inlet but once we got out the ocean was flat calm. The water temp was around 70-71 about 15 off. the water was gin clear and ton of bait, sand eels and squid. Just outside the 20 line we hooked up- 8lb blue the another and another. The mate rigged a small planer and bam a hugh bonito, Then the same rod, bang and the drag never stoped. this fish had to be 150 or better. We had him on for about 20 minutes and pop just about 10 yards of line left on the spool. Yes sir, Big tuna 16 miles out. Well, that's that...We had action all day and filled the cooler with nice Bluefish and bonito. The weather was fantastic and so was the crew. Tuna this time of year can range form a 20 to 200 lbs or more When you get a Bluefin tuna you know it. Those big tuna pull hard the whole time . Tuna are the big game show, and now ;is the time. |

Had a super day. Trolled up a nice striper on the way out 33 incher. Then had a good bite on the tog.Landed a 11lbs 23inch tog and some 6 and 8lbs. with a load of keepers. Came back on the troll and caught another striper 29 incher. The weather was fantastic, lite winds and warm in the sun. Back to the dock scrubbed up and had a Corona at the bar. And that was a good day.
Tuesday 12-09-08, the weather looks good, going to fish tog on two special wrecks, 85$ pp boat leaves at 7am back around 4ish. Only taking 10pp 10 persons, targeting 15lbs fish. No limp rods thank you. When the weather is good - you got to go. Capt. Mike 609-391-9630 for more info. |

Got out on Sunday with a good group of fishermen. Started out trying for porgies, but not enough to go around so picked up the anchors and headed to deeper waters. Mixed in some drifts along with the drops which produced pretty good action with seabass. Lots of shorts to weed thru to get keepers, but atleast it was steady action. Moved back inshore and had more seabass action. Did see triggerfish caught as well as blowfish, and short fluke which were let to swim again.
Yesterday had a pretty small group out and again the mainstay was seabass. High hook had 18 keepers. Some porgies in the mix as well as blackfish. 4lb tog took the pool money. Decent fishing overall. Lots of action, but do have to release alot of shorts to get to the keepers.
No one showed up today
We have clams, crabs, and worms on board. |

Sea Bass fishing is good, the keeper ratio is about even. Alot of fish in the coolers over a pound and some close to two. A cod fish made the catch of the day. No fluke boated, but the current was running strong, this week should produce flatties around GE reef. Water was clear and cold. 53.4 at about 12 miles out. By the 24th the fluking should be good and sea bass very good. Keep fishing
