Deconfinement: anglers return to the water with a good catch
Nature enthusiasts were confined for more than two months, and by May 11, they were able to get out of their homes and go walking, cycling or fishing. In Belle-Isle, for example, some fishermen did not regret getting up very early.
Sylvain (27) and Joris (23) decided to come to Châteauroux and more precisely to Belle-Isle to satisfy their passion. Sylvain has been fishing since he is old enough to hold a fishing rod in his hands, but it is a discovery for Joris who bought second-hand fishing equipment and tried his hand at fishing on May 11th, the date of the deconfinement.
We poached at four o’clock in the morning and took the car in the direction of Belle-Isle – Sylvain (fisherman).
Sylvain lives in Saint-Savin in the Vienne and Joris au Blanc in the Indre. Their goal for this sunny weekend was to buy fishing equipment in Châteauroux and no way to go to bed, even when we get off work.” We started at 4am, we took the car in the direction of Belle-Ile.It’s a place I know because fishing contests are organized there. We arrived on site around 5 am and started fishing around 6 am”, says Sylvain. He and his friend did well. They caught a total of ten fishes including a 73cm pike!
This is my third pike, the first 70 cm, the second 30 cm and the third 73 cm – Joris (fisherman)
It was Joris who was at the maneuver: “The pike bit just next to the water lilies in 30 cm of water. Sylvain who was next to me guided me to get the fish out of the water then he caught the net. It’s a 73 cm pike. I’m very happy it’s my third pike, the first 70 cm, the second 30 cm and today 73 cm.”
Sylvain and Joris then took the direction of a specialized fishing shop so that Joris could buy his first fishing rod but also the material which goes with it. Know that to begin, you will have to pay a hundred euros and of course to be up to date as regards the regulations. Indeed, the fishing licence is obligatory to fish in France. If you do not have a fishing card, you expose yourself to a fine of 450 euros in the event of control.
